I will take the privilege of starting this blog with the following quote referring to the unaware conflicting identities leading to a revolutionary culture in Pakistan.

"All my life I had an awareness of other times and places. I have been aware of other persons, and trust me, so have you, my reader that is to be. Read back into your childhood, and this sense of awareness I speak of will be remembered as an experience of your childhood. You were then not fixed, not crystallized, not plastic. You were a soul in flux, a consciousness and an identity in process of forming-ay, of forming and forgetting."

Jack London, The Star Rover
1963

One reason of these conflicting identities leading to revolution in culture could be globalization. Pakistani culture is largely predisposed by the western society and media which is definitely more dominating and influential.
Our traditional dress is Shalwar Kamiz of which we should be proud of has been transformed into shirt and pants, jeans, etc. This main change could be the result of the
influence of Pakistanis living abroad and the some of it can be credited to the evil spreading through satellite channels...posted by Sarah Ahmad

well it depends..i mean for me the dress code has more to do with culture and not religion..these 2 should never be mixed..and yes we are influenced by them..but what they actually do is to make us feel complex..so we are bound to follow them to look cool.
