Feeling the Groove People!!! What you see above is something that would fascinate you and is guaranteed to indulge you. Could we have ever thought for a kind of culture to prevail in the Pakistan's society where people both male and female would be found partying around and in a swimming pool and under one roof? This is the latest trend and is simply off the hook! There are those who have been a part of it and are fascinated, and then there are those who have just heard about and are anxious to be a part of it and for those who have not heard about it; YES! This is true and this is happening!

Now you get to see a glimpse of Pool parties. Swimming Pool, Dj, High volume music, Dance floor, Bar and empty rooms are the ambience of such parties. Whether you are a guy or a girl you will be tempted to take a dip in the pool, you will get water splashed on you and you will be tempted to splash water on others because otherwise you have not been a part of the party in the true sense.

Evolved Much!! No Doubt..Trend in Pakistan is completely changing; Glamour, Fashion, Style, Clubs, Dance Floors, Bars and so much more. These are the "WoW factors" that people look forward to bringing oomph in their lives. People who are part of it keep their fingers crossed for a night that promises glamour and a little bit of drama. For them this is called 'Living the life' as it should be. However, these kinds of events do not take place openly. While so many out there are a part of it, so many more are not. But it won’t be long before more and more people do actually start to become part of it. Whether this changing trend is acceptable or not that is a whole different story.

Dress to impress! Fashion and style is what is on peoples mind all the time. Coming to any sort of event means being uniquely dress so as to differentiate one from the others. It is places like these where you get to see people wearing something that you do not normally get to see. Sometimes it is soothing to the eyes and people can't get their eyes off of each other's dresses and can't stop talking about it and sometimes the dresses worn cause eyes to burn. However, attitude like these cause an ambiance to be created that is so intriguing and provocative that it becomes absolutely difficult to refrain oneself from becoming a part of it. In addition, something without which an event is incomplete, something that adds an extra flava to an event is the BAR. What is with the Bars being the X factor at most of the events? Interestingly, a good bar with an ample and continuous supply of liquor keeps the party going! That’s the simplest formula in the book!

The next hot spot once people have had two to three glasses of liquor is the dance floor. It is usually built at the center of the event compelling people to groove to the beat. And once as mentioned people have had few glassed of liquor there is no stopping them then, that is when the party is at the verge of becoming WILD!!

Are the people of our nation drifting to the dark side inadvertently? The only thing that is clung on to their minds is how to improve or add more freshness to the next event. While they are up to these things the significant question is that is this the future we are looking forward too?
Pakistani Theaters Giving Exposure to the Social Issues
8:56 PM | Author: Mehreen Mehmood

Punjab Lok Rahs is a working class organization in Pakistan that pushes for social change through the medium of theater plays. For the illiterate population , theater is a medium for education and transformation.

They cover topics mostly related to woman's issues like honor killings, domestic violence and forced marriage, while also looking at child labor, globalization, specific health issues, imperialism, the global oil crisis, and more.

Lok Rahs does not have professional actors. Every participant is a volunteer, and the actors are those who suffer from the problems discussed in the plays. With oppressive government censorship, and an art scheme that has suffered decades of repression, Lok Rahs has worked hard to continue their work under difficult circumstances.

Major Cultural Changes in Pakistani Society
11:10 AM | Author: Mehreen Mehmood
Pakistani society is mainly a Muslim society, in which high regard is given to the religious values and family morals, but side by side, people have always coped up with the latest in the world.

The history of the recent decades highlights many cultural changes in the Pakistani society.
Nowadays, we can see that:
  • People are adapting new fashion trends
  • They prefer to have a high standard of living which portrays them as a very high class elite
  • Middle class is also moving towards more liberal direction
  • Youth is moving fast towards the westernized culture
These are the major emerging changes which we can witness nowadays. I will focus on the factors behind these changes and will also discuss that whether these changes are bringing a positive change or they are destroying the image of our society.
I will take the privilege of starting this blog with the following quote referring to the unaware conflicting identities leading to a revolutionary culture in Pakistan.

"All my life I had an awareness of other times and places. I have been aware of other persons, and trust me, so have you, my reader that is to be. Read back into your childhood, and this sense of awareness I speak of will be remembered as an experience of your childhood. You were then not fixed, not crystallized, not plastic. You were a soul in flux, a consciousness and an identity in process of forming-ay, of forming and forgetting."
